Erste Group Raises 2026 Outlook Following Strong Nine-Month Growth

Austrian banking major Erste Group has upgraded its financial targets through 2026 and announced an impending tender offer for its Polish subsidiary, bolstered by robust customer growth throughout the first nine months of the year.
The bank raised its 2026 loan volume projection to exceed €290 billion, equivalent to approximately $324 billion. In addition, Erste revised its forecast for net interest income growth—excluding operations in Poland—to more than 6%, marking an increase from its prior expectation of roughly 5%.

The strategic upgrades follow solid financial results for the third quarter. Erste reported a net profit climbing to €1.12 billion, outperforming the €1.08 billion average analyst estimate derived from a company-provided poll. Officials attributed the earnings beat to heightened lending and deposit volumes, which provided a significant lift to both net interest and fee income.
Building on its regional expansion strategy, the lender confirmed it will launch a tender offer to increase its stake in Erste Bank Polska by up to 26%. The subscription period for the tender is scheduled to open on Tuesday, following the official launch on Monday.
Erste Group currently maintains a 49% ownership stake in Erste Bank Polska, which stands as the third-largest bank in Poland by assets and ranks among the nation’s most profitable financial institutions. The Austrian banking group acquired its initial holding earlier in the year from Santander as part of a broader corporate push to expand its footprint across Central and Eastern Europe.
