Marvell Technology Targets Massive Growth Driven by Custom AI Chip Demand

Marvell Technology has established itself as an essential supplier within the artificial intelligence hardware landscape, helping drive an 189% surge in its share price over the past year. The semiconductor firm specializes in custom AI chips, networking and optical connectivity components, and storage controllers, aligning its product portfolio with expanding infrastructure demand across the technology sector.

Financial performance reflects this momentum. During the first six months of fiscal 2027, which concluded on Aug. 1, Marvell reported revenue of $5.16 billion, marking a 32% increase compared to the same period in the previous year. Looking further ahead, corporate projections presented during the company’s Investor Day point to a substantial acceleration in growth through the end of the decade.

Management anticipates that total revenue will expand at a compound annual growth rate of 55% to 60% between fiscal 2026 and fiscal 2031. Specific product categories are expected to spearhead this expansion, with custom AI chip revenue projected to advance at an 80% compound annual growth rate through fiscal 2031, while interconnect revenue targets a 65% compound annual growth rate over the same timeframe.

In addition to top-line acceleration, earnings per share are expected to outpace revenue growth. The company anticipates that operating expenses will increase at approximately half the rate of revenue gains, prompting analysts to revise their long-term earnings forecasts upward.

Marvell recorded an adjusted earnings per share of $2.84 in fiscal 2026, which ended Jan. 31, 2026. Based on projected multiyear revenue trajectories, analysts anticipate a compound annual earnings growth rate of 56% through fiscal 2031, which concludes in January 2031. Under those projections, earnings per share could approach $26.24 by the close of the decade.

If the semiconductor stock trades at 21 times earnings by 2030—matching the forward earnings multiple of the tech-focused Nasdaq-100 index—its share price could reach $551, representing a substantial premium over current trading levels. Given the company’s specialized market position in custom artificial intelligence silicon and optical networking, financial observers suggest the equity could command an even higher valuation multiple as global infrastructure deployment unfolds.
