Vox Debuts New Unified Mobile Application Combining Text, Audio, and Video

Digital news organization Vox has officially launched a new mobile application designed to unify its reporting across written articles, podcasts, and video programming into a single platform. The application is now available for free download on both the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store.
New users who are not currently enrolled as Vox Members will receive a 14-day free trial upon signing up for the service. According to Swati Sharma, editor-in-chief and publisher, the platform aims to provide a centralized space where audiences can access the full breadth of the brand’s output.
The application features a Home tab designed to house every story published by the organization, allowing readers and viewers to navigate easily between highlighted features and the latest breaking coverage. A dedicated Start Here section is also included to provide quick summaries of major daily topics.
For paying members, the application offers an ad-free listening experience across the network’s podcast portfolio. Programs included in this feature are Today, Explained, hosted by Sean Rameswaram and Noel King, along with America, Actually hosted by Astead Herndon, Unexplainable, The Gray Area, and Explain It to Me.
Video content is integrated through a dedicated Video tab intended to deliver short-form coverage on major current issues. In addition, longer video projects, including in-depth explanatory pieces and member-exclusive segments from various podcasts, are accessible via a Featured Video section located within the main Home tab.
Established in 2014, Vox was initially created to bridge the gap between daily reporting and contextual understanding through its signature explainer journalism format. Over the years, the brand has expanded its reach across multiple digital platforms, newsletters, a YouTube channel boasting nearly 13 million subscribers, and a growing slate of audio programs. Under Sharma’s leadership, the organization has also developed a membership base consisting of tens of thousands of paying subscribers.
