Ukraine Strikes Russian Missile Plant as Heavy Aerial Raids Continue

Ukrainian forces launched a wave of overnight drone strikes hitting a Russian missile manufacturing facility in the Rostov region, President Volodymyr Zelensky reported on Sunday. The attack targeted the Kamensky plant as part of a broader exchange of long-term aerial bombardments that left hundreds of households in Ukraine without power across four regions.

Zelensky stated that the intense barrage reflects an effort by Russian forces to maximally exploit depleted supplies of ballistic missile interceptors in Ukraine. Meanwhile, Russia’s Defence Ministry claimed its air defenses downed 235 Ukrainian drones overnight. In parallel, the Ukrainian air force reported shooting down 371 of 433 long-range drones launched by Russia since Saturday evening.

The heavy strikes followed reports that Ukrainian arms manufacturer Fire Point has developed navigation workarounds enabling its long-range strike systems to complete missions without relying on SpaceX satellite services. Company CEO Iryna Terekh noted that the systems were built to finish operations independently following recent speed limits imposed on Ukrainian drone and defense networks.

In the Nizhny Novgorod region, Russian investigators opened a criminal case on terrorism charges following a massive drone attack on an industrial and civilian infrastructure facility. Governor Gleb Nikitin confirmed the site sustained significant damage, prompting regional authorities to implement measures ensuring fuel remains available at petrol stations near the NORSI oil refinery area.

Amid the ongoing hostilities, diplomatic signaling continued as Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov announced that President Vladimir Putin would be willing to take a call from President Zelensky, adding that Moscow views a trilateral format involving Russia, Ukraine, and the United States as the logical starting point for future settlement talks. The diplomatic positioning coincides with a localized six-day ceasefire around the Russian-controlled Ukrainian town of Oleshky, where residents began evacuating under a joint relief operation brokered with international involvement.

Separately, the United States issued an urgent security alert warning Russian authorities of an imminent mass-casualty terror plot targeting the historic Tsaritsyno Museum Reserve in Moscow. The U.S. Embassy advised American nationals to avoid the 18th-century museum site and stay clear of large crowds as security concerns mount in the capital.
