Russia Detains Minor Over Moscow Park Attack Threat Following U.S. Tip-Off

Russia’s Federal Security Service announced on Sunday that authorities have detained a Russian minor in connection with an alleged plan to execute a terrorist attack at a public park in Moscow. The operation followed an intelligence warning transmitted by the United States.

The security agency stated on Saturday that it received actionable information from Washington through established bilateral partner channels regarding preparations for an impending strike in the Russian capital, prompting immediate countermeasures.

The detained individual had published images of himself on the TikTok platform dressed in tactical gear and a balaclava while wielding an object resembling an automatic weapon. According to Interfax, the suspect also uploaded photographs taken within Moscow’s Tsaritsyno Museum Reserve accompanied by the caption, “I found a place.”

In its official statement, the security service expressed appreciation for the intelligence sharing, noting, “We are grateful to the American side for providing the information.” Authorities executing a search at the minor’s residence recovered the tactical clothing and accessories featured in the online imagery. Furthermore, an examination of the suspect’s mobile phone revealed a subscription to a neo-Nazi channel on the Telegram application along with numerous online searches related to mass casualty incidents, terrorist attacks, and other acts of violence.

Tsaritsyno, a sprawling historical palace museum and park complex located in southern Moscow, was temporarily closed to visitors on Saturday as a direct result of the U.S. warning and subsequent security sweeps.

Russia’s Investigative Committee is currently reviewing the case to determine appropriate legal and procedural measures against the suspect.
