Singer Sparks Debate After Spraying Rogue Foot on Flight

Country singer and author Jessie James Decker has sparked an intense social media debate after sharing a video of herself reacting to a bare foot invading her personal space on an airplane.

In the footage shared with her 4.4 million Instagram followers, Decker is seen holding her nose and dousing a stray bare foot that appeared next to her armrest with an unidentified spray. Text overlaid on the video read, “Someone’s foot smells so bad on the plane,” while her caption asked her audience, “Before you come at me…What would you have done?”

The post quickly drew widespread reactions, dividing followers between those appalled by the breach of cabin etiquette and others questioning the authenticity of the clip. Several commenters expressed outrage over the passenger’s behavior, with one writing, “The nerve of some people!” Another supporter cheered, “I’d do just what you did!!! Spray the stinky foot!!!” Another user suggested a harsher penalty, writing, “They should’ve been escorted off the plane.”

A self-described former flight attendant also weighed in, condemning passengers who use armrests as footrests. “As a past flight attendant, when I saw people put their feet on the arm rest, I immediately told them no, this isn’t their home. Respect the plane & people around you. That is so F in nasty. I would have smacked his foot with my elbow,” the commenter wrote.

However, a large number of followers questioned whether Decker had actually targeted a stranger or if the mystery foot belonged to her husband, former NFL wide receiver Eric Decker. The couple married in 2013 and share four children: Vivianne, Eric Jr., Forrest, and Denver. Commenters flooded the post with doubts, with one writing, “Please tell me that’s Eric’s foot and not some random person’s foot!” Another speculated, “You are far too sweet to do that to a stranger…” A third user added, “That better be your husband. I would’ve moved!”

Other followers offered alternative methods for dealing with an intrusive foot in the cabin. Suggestions ranged from playful pranks to passive-aggressive retaliation, with one user proposing, “Tickle tickle!”, another writing, “I would’ve pulled out … [a] sharpie and started drawing,” and a third suggesting, “You should have pretended to sneeze then sprayed his foot.”

Decker did not clarify whose foot appeared in the video or whether the incident was staged, leaving the identity of the foot unconfirmed.
