Teen Charged After Stabbing at Sydney House Party
A 17-year-old boy has been charged following an alleged stabbing that left an 18-year-old man hospitalized after a large house party dissolved into violence in Western Sydney.
Law enforcement officers arrived at a residential property in Marsden Park at approximately 9:40 p.m. on Friday. Because of the sheer size of the gathering, authorities instructed that the event be immediately shut down and the premises cleared.
According to police reports, a physical altercation erupted among members of the crowd as they were being dispersed. During the scuffle, the 18-year-old victim sustained a laceration to his forearm.
Paramedics administered emergency treatment to the wounded man at the scene before transporting him to a local hospital, where medical staff reported he was in a stable condition.
Shortly after the incident, police officers—aided by members of the public—located and arrested a 17-year-old suspect. The teenager was taken to Mount Druitt Police Station, where formal charges were laid against him, including reckless wounding and the possession of a prohibited drug.
Authorities confirmed that aside from the stabbing victim, no other injuries or instances of property damage were reported during the operation.
The accused teenager was refused bail by police and was scheduled to make an appearance in a children’s court on Saturday.
