Chicago Weather Outlook: Morning Showers Give Way to Clearing Skies Ahead of Weekend

Chicago is tracking a shifting weather pattern that brings a mix of morning showers, clearing skies, and mild temperatures as the region heads into Halloween weekend.
Precipitation is possible on Thursday morning as a cold front moves across the area. Following the early moisture, conditions are expected to improve during the afternoon as skies clear out. Daytime temperatures are projected to reach a high near 70 degrees, accompanied by sunshine and southwest winds gusting up to 15 miles per hour later in the day.

The pleasant conditions will continue into the start of Friday, which is forecast to be mostly sunny with high temperatures settling in the low 60s. However, the atmospheric setup changes heading into the weekend, with rain potential returning Friday night and persisting into early Saturday.
Despite the early-weekend dampness, Saturday’s forecast indicates that conditions may dry out sufficiently in time for trick-or-treat festivities, with afternoon highs anticipated to hover around 60 degrees. Sunday transitions to mostly cloudy skies while temperatures recover slightly, reaching the mid-60s.
The unsettled weather pattern is expected to extend into the following week. Rain chances return on Monday alongside high temperatures climbing into the upper 60s. Additional showers are possible on both Tuesday and Wednesday, with both days expected to remain mostly cloudy and highs ranging from the upper 60s on Tuesday to the mid-60s by Wednesday.
