Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez Reunite for Rare Beauty Collaboration

Pop stars Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez are bringing their lifelong friendship to the beauty industry with a new collaboration between Lovato and Gomez’s brand, Rare Beauty. Launching today, October 28, the Delena Soft Pinch Blush Bundle features a pair of bestselling liquid blush shades: Virtue, a beige-peach favored by Lovato, and Hope, a nude-mauve preferred by Gomez.

The partnership follows a backstage reconnection in April, when Gomez attended a stop on Lovato’s It’s Not That Deep Tour in Orlando. To support the campaign, the two friends recreated poses from their 2009 Disney movie Princess Protection Program, marking a full-circle moment for a bond that began when they met on the set of Barney at age seven.

Reflecting on their shared history, Lovato recalled how the pair once planned and practiced a red carpet pose involving linked elbows ahead of the 2011 Teen Choice Awards. Though the actual moment yielded more laughter than glamour, the enduring connection has weathered various chapters of their lives and careers in the public eye.

As part of the collaboration, Lovato also looked back on old YouTube vlogs she and Gomez filmed during their early Disney days, noting that watching the footage evoked a mix of nostalgia and embarrassment. She joked that her early beauty routines offered more lessons in what to avoid than tips to emulate, joking about past makeup missteps like applying concealer to her lips.

Beyond the beauty launch, Lovato spoke candidly about her long-standing advocacy for mental health, addiction recovery, and living a sober lifestyle. Having navigated personal struggles at a young age without public peers facing similar challenges, Lovato expressed pride in being open about her experiences with eating disorders, addiction, and bipolar disorder to serve as a role model for others. She also praised Gomez for her own mental health advocacy.

Looking ahead at her musical and professional future, Lovato noted that she recently explored a dance-pop sound and embraced platforms like TikTok to connect with listeners. While she remains uncertain about the exact musical direction of her next era, she expressed eagerness to continue creating music for her fans.
