Vox Launches New Mobile Application to Centralize Digital Journalism and Podcasts

Digital news organization Vox has released a new mobile application designed to consolidate its written reporting, video programming, and audio shows into a unified platform. The newly launched app aims to provide readers and listeners with a centralized hub for the outlet’s digital journalism.

The application features a Home tab intended to serve as the primary feed for all published content, allowing users to switch between curated featured stories and a chronological stream of the latest publications. For a concise overview of daily news developments, the platform includes a designated section titled Start Here.

In addition to written articles, the application incorporates a dedicated Podcasts tab providing access to the outlet’s audio catalog. Programs available through the platform include Today, Explained, hosted by Sean Rameswaram and Noel King, as well as America, Actually with Astead Herndon. Other featured audio series include Unexplainable, The Gray Area, and Explain It to Me. According to the platform’s specifications, all podcasts within the app are made available ad-free for individuals enrolled as Vox Members.

Visual content is integrated through a separate Video tab tailored for short-form video content addressing major news topics. Furthermore, longer video productions, including in-depth explanatory pieces and member-exclusive segments derived from the outlet’s podcast recordings, are accessible within the Featured Video section located inside the Home tab.
