Utah Faces Pittsburgh in Final Regular-Season Meeting on Wednesday

The Utah Mammoth are set to face the Pittsburgh Penguins in the second and final game between the two teams this season, scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 29, at 5:00 p.m. MT. Utah secured a 5-4 victory in the first meeting of the season series.

Pittsburgh enters the week holding a 5-6-1 record, placing them sixth in the Metropolitan Division with 11 points. The Penguins have demonstrated a stark contrast in performance depending on the venue, posting a strong 4-1-0 record at home compared to a struggling 1-5-1 mark on the road. Despite their overall record, Pittsburgh enters the matchup having won its last two consecutive games, most recently defeating the Nashville Predators in overtime on Saturday.

Special teams have been a notable asset for the Penguins, who boast the eighth-best penalty kill in the NHL with an 83.9% success rate. Defensive contributions have anchored that unit, led by defenseman Declan Carlile, whose 32:10 of shorthanded time on ice paces the team.

On the offensive side, defenseman Erik Karlsson leads Pittsburgh with 11 assists and 12 points. Karlsson’s 11 assists place him in a tie for the eighth-most in the league. His lone goal of the season came during the previous matchup against Utah on Oct. 19, converted on the power play.

Following their Saturday overtime win against Nashville, the Penguins benefit from a four-day break before hosting Utah on Thursday.

Fans can watch the game on Mammoth+, Utah16, and Fox13, or listen via the KSL Sports Zone at 97.5FM/102.7 HD2, the KSL Sports App, the NHL App, or online via Sirius XM.
