Meteorologist Kacey Montoya Returns to Los Angeles TV at FOX 11

Popular Los Angeles meteorologist Kacey Montoya has returned to television broadcasting, joining rival station FOX 11 six months after her departure from KTLA amid corporate layoffs.
Montoya made her comeback Thursday evening, stepping back in front of the cameras for the first time since leaving her previous post in April. Ahead of the broadcast, she shared a behind-the-scenes look at her new newsroom environment via an Instagram Reel, showing her reviewing weather graphics and running through upcoming segments.
“This is the first that I’ve been on air in six months since we worked at the other place,” Montoya told her followers, confirming her move to the network in an online post.
During her return, she wasted no time getting to work, offering viewers a preview of Southern California’s Halloween forecast by sharing regional weather maps and asking followers if incoming rain might affect holiday plans.

The transition drew public welcoming remarks from peers across the local broadcasting community. KTLA meteorologist Vera Jimenez expressed support on social media, writing, “Yay! So glad your back on!!” Meanwhile, FOX 11 anchor Brooke Thomas welcomed her new colleague by noting she was eager to share the news desk together.
Montoya’s exit from KTLA earlier this year stemmed from broader corporate staff reductions rather than an individual performance decision. Following her final broadcast at the station, she dedicated her time to running Fix’n Fidos, an animal welfare nonprofit organization she founded that provides funding for spay and neuter services throughout Southern California.
