The “Friday the 13th” prequel series “Crystal Lake” has pulled in strong initial numbers on Peacock, registering 1.3 billion minutes watched during its first 11 days on the platform.
According to streaming platform metrics, that total equates to an estimated 3.3 million views when divided by the series’ 398-minute runtime. The performance places “Crystal Lake” as Peacock’s fourth-most-watched scripted original series of all time. In the platform’s historical rankings, it trails only “The Best Man: The Final Chapters” from 2022, “All Her Fault” from 2025, and the first season of “The Five Star Weekend” from 2026.
Independent audience measurement firm Nielsen reported that the series also secured high standing across the wider television landscape. During the week of Oct. 19, “Crystal Lake” ranked as the third-most-watched streaming original series and the third-most-streamed first-season series across all platforms.
Social engagement metrics provided by Sprout Social further underscored the program’s reach, recording 1.8 billion impressions in a single day alongside more than 7.6 million video views over the course of its first 11 days.
Created by showrunner Brad Caleb Kane, the narrative follows single mother Pam Voorhees, portrayed by Linda Cardellini. The official logline states that she has struggled to overcome her grief following the tragic drowning of her young, sickly son Jason nearly a year prior. The arrival of two strangers digging into her past initiates a disturbing chain of events that leaves the local residents questioning her background. The cast also features William Catlett, Devin Kessler, Cameron Scoggins, Gwendolyn Sundstrom, Nick Cordileone, Joy Suprano, Danielle Kotch, and Phoenix Parnevik, with Callum Vinson appearing as Jason.
Studio A24 produces the series. Executive producers include Kane, Marc Toberoff, Victor Miller, Robert M. Barsamian, Robert P. Barsamian, Stuart Manashil, Tyson Bidner, Michael Lennox, and Roy Lee. Directing duties are shared by Michael Lennox, Celine Held, Logan George, and Quyen Tran.
