JoJo Siwa Details Shared Vision With Boyfriend Chris Hughes and Future Plans

Dancer and television personality JoJo Siwa has opened up about her relationship with partner Chris Hughes, revealing that the couple shares identical tastes when it comes to a future engagement ring. The couple first crossed paths in April 2025 during the 24th season of “Celebrity Big Brother UK,” where a close friendship quickly developed into a romance that they officially confirmed in June 2025.

Speaking at the 12th Annual Industry Dance Awards, Siwa discussed the prospect of walking down the aisle and explained her original plan for the proposal. She noted that she had previously told her mother that if Hughes were to propose, she wanted him to design the ring entirely on his own. Despite wanting him to take the creative lead, Siwa admitted she had already searched for designs and saved a Google image of what she considered her dream ring.

During a casual dinner conversation, Siwa asked Hughes what he imagined her dream ring to look like. They agreed to search for a photo independently and reveal their choices on the count of three. When they turned their screens around, both were holding the exact same image from Google depicting a blue emerald-shaped diamond. Siwa described the coincidence as remarkable, noting that the probability of such a match was extremely slim.

The couple is approaching their year-and-a-half anniversary, a milestone Siwa remarked feels both like a brief moment and a long-standing commitment. Their relationship reached the one-year mark previously with tributes shared on social media, where Hughes posted photographs and throwback video footage from their time on “Celebrity Big Brother UK,” referring to Siwa as colorful. Siwa responded warmly, expressing gratitude for the house where they first met.

The prospect of marriage represents a notable shift for the 23-year-old performer. During an appearance on the “Reign With Josh Smith” podcast, Siwa admitted that she previously envisioned a simple trip to Las Vegas or signing paperwork rather than a formal ceremony. However, her perspective changed after meeting Hughes, expressing a desire for a traditional wedding complete with a ring, a first dance, and her father walking her down the aisle.

Siwa also shared the moment she realized her feelings for Hughes, recounting a conversation with singer Meghan Trainor. Trainor had told her that being in love involves fantasizing about starting a family, a sentiment Siwa later told Trainor she fully understood after months into her relationship with the reality television personality.

Alongside her public romance, Hughes has drawn attention for financial matters involving his business, Chris Hughes Associates Ltd, which was established following his appearance on “Love Island.” According to filings for the year ending July 31, 2024, the company owed £423,243, equivalent to approximately $559,774, to creditors. The majority of that sum, totaling £409,057 or roughly $540,984, was attributed to taxation and social security obligations, with the remainder stemming from bank loans and overdraft facilities. His Majesty’s Revenue & Customs filed a petition in August 2024 to wind up the company, though the case was subsequently dismissed in April 2025.
