Professional dancer Sasha Farber is taking time to adjust to single life following his recent breakup from actress Janel Parrish after a brief three-month romance.
Speaking publicly about the split, the 42-year-old dancer noted that he is currently taking a step back from dating to focus on himself. “I wouldn’t say I’m enjoying [it], but I’m single, and I just need a second,” Farber shared on Friday, October 23, at the Minky Couture Takes NYC VIP Red Carpet Celebration. “I just need a second to have some time to myself before I could even go on any dates or do anything. I think we all need time, and that’s all I got.”
The pair initially crossed paths years prior during Parrish’s appearance on season 19 of Dancing With the Stars. They reconnected earlier this year following their respective divorces—Farber from Emma Slater and Parrish from Chris Long. Their romance became public in April when Farber shared footage of them dancing together on a sidewalk, followed by a red carpet debut in June at the Race to Erase MS Gala.
During their time together, Parrish spoke warmly of her partner, praising his character and describing him as a bright light to everyone he meets. While the couple has not formally addressed the details surrounding their breakup, which was first reported in late July, Farber continues to concentrate on his professional career and connection with fans.
Reflecting on his tenure with the long-running dance competition series, Farber expressed gratitude for the ongoing encouragement from viewers. “It is so nice to hear so much positive stuff from the fans from Dancing the Stars. It really is a dream come true. I’m very, very lucky,” he said, adding that the warmth and openness of the fanbase often create a unique sense of community.
As for a potential return to the ballroom, Farber indicated that he remains ready should the opportunity arise. Although he last appeared as a professional dancer during season 33 and made a brief cameo in the season 35 premiere, he made his stance clear: “I got my phone ready to go. If they call, I’m there.”
