Club América Prepares Major Lineup Rotations Ahead of Tijuana Clash

Club América is preparing to overhaul its starting lineup across every position as the team looks toward an upcoming fixture against Tijuana at the Estadio Banorte. Manager Guillermo Almada has mapped out a series of strategic changes designed to manage player fatigue and inject fresh energy into the squad ahead of the decisive final stretch of the tournament.
The tactical adjustments are aimed at resting high-minute starters as the team enters a brutal schedule featuring high-stakes encounters against Toluca, the Capital Classic against Pumas, and a subsequent clash with Tigres. According to reporting details, the Tijuana fixture is viewed as the ideal opportunity to implement these sweeping modifications.
Changes are expected to touch every level of the formation, starting in goal where Rodolfo Cota is slated to take the starting role. Defensive adjustments open up possibilities for Ramón Juárez and Emilio Lara to feature, along with potential returns for Cristian Borja. In the midfield, players such as Alan Cervantes and Edwin Cerrillo are in line for starting duties, while the attacking third will feature Miguel Borja anchoring the center forward position alongside Isaías Violante.
América currently sits atop the Apertura 2026 standings with 27 points, closely trailed by Chivas and Cruz Azul, who each hold 26 units. The Águilas hold a game in hand, which they are scheduled to complete on October 28.
