Donald Trump Draws Capacity Crowd to Port Huron, Michigan, Rally

Supporters packed a capacity rally for President Donald Trump on Sunday in Port Huron, Michigan, a community recognized as the Maritime Capital of the Great Lakes. Attendees lined up outside the venue as early as daybreak to secure entry for the appearance, which followed a campaign visit to Detroit by former President Barack Obama just a day prior.

The Sunday gathering marks what is believed to be the first visit by a sitting president to St. Clair County, according to local reporting from MIRS News. Video footage shared by Director of Presidential Personnel Dan Scavino captured the scene inside the McCorran Place Arena, where the venue was filled to capacity with no empty seats visible as the president took the stage.

Among the thousands waiting in line was an attendee who expressed strong loyalty to the president. We love him because he loves us, she said, adding that she believed he had sacrificed a great deal to protect the country.

The rally served as a key campaign stop to boost Republican candidate Mike Rogers as he works to cross the finish line in what has emerged as one of the most closely watched political campaigns of the current cycle. Trump’s visit to the area, located just miles from the Canadian border, followed a Detroit event featuring Obama, who appeared to support Abdul El-Sayed.
