Netflix October 2026 Slate Led by Lupin Return and Matthew Perry Documentary

The final full week of October 2026 brings a heavy-hitting mix of international thrillers, deeply personal documentaries, and localized comedies to Netflix. Leading the schedule is the long-awaited return of France’s most famous gentleman thief, alongside an exhaustive retrospective on one of television’s most beloved stars.

On October 23, the global phenomenon Lupin returns with Part 4. The new chapter finds Assane Diop, played by Omar Sy, in a precarious position. After years of orchestrating elaborate heists and evading authority to avenge his father’s legacy, Diop initially plans to serve out his prison sentence and move to Senegal for a fresh start with his family. However, these plans are derailed when he is framed by a copycat thief. The framing forces Assane to escape incarceration and once again don the mantle of Arsène Lupin to clear his name, promising a return to the high-stakes disguises and clever deceptions that defined the earlier parts of the series.

Documentary fans will find significant new content on October 27 with the premiere of The One About Matthew Perry. The three-part docuseries is billed as the first in-depth exploration of the actor’s life following his tragic death. It reportedly features testimonials from those in Perry’s inner circle, chronicling his rise to superstardom on the hit sitcom Friends, his well-documented struggles with addiction, and his eventual legacy. To complement the documentary, several of Perry’s notable film roles—including the romantic comedy Fools Rush In, the crime-comedy The Whole Nine Yards, and the fantasy-comedy 17 Again—are also being made available for streaming.

Comedy and mental health take center stage earlier in the week with two distinct projects. Also arriving on October 23 is Paralyzed by Hope: The Maria Bamford Story, which follows the comedian as she explores the intersection of her personal mental health journey and her idiosyncratic performance style. On October 27, stand-up Zainab Johnson returns with her special, Toxically Optimistic. Johnson’s set covers a wide range of topics, from a personal revelation involving a gun to a crisis involving her Tesla, all tied together by her theme of finding silver linings in modern chaos.

International offerings this week are diverse, spanning from Mexican survival dramas to Filipino thrillers. Surviving Hurricane Otis, debuting October 23, stars Benny Emmanuel as Wirpul. The film follows Wirpul and his half-brother as they navigate the devastating aftermath of the storm in Acapulco, Mexico, focusing on the endurance of their brotherhood under extreme pressure. Later in the week, on October 29, the thriller Balaraw: Blood Island follows a woman’s perilous journey to a remote island in search of her missing mother, where she uncovers dark local secrets.

The week also includes several specialized series and films. Fading Grandeur (Oct 23) tells the story of a marquis attempting to sell a decaying mansion to a millionaire with hidden motives. Minimum Wage (Oct 26) adapts popular social media shorts into a full series focused on teenagers attempting to manage a local pizzeria. On October 27, a new period drama set in old Paris will launch, focusing on two outcasts using seduction as a weapon in a war of wits.
