Idaho Nurse Killed by Husband in Murder-Suicide Weeks After Social Media Post

A 37-year-old nurse and her husband were found dead inside their Idaho home following a reported murder-suicide, authorities confirmed, coming just weeks after the victim shared glowing updates about her family’s relocation.
Local law enforcement officers discovered the bodies of Violeta Yeager and 39-year-old Richard Yeager inside their residence in Meridian, a suburb of Boise, after responding to a request for a welfare check. Investigators established that Richard Yeager shot his wife multiple times before using the firearm on himself.
Medical examiners determined that Violeta Yeager died from multiple gunshot wounds to the chest and abdomen, officially ruling her death a homicide. Her husband’s death was classified as a suicide following post-mortem examinations.
The tragedy unfolded just over two weeks after Violeta Yeager had taken to social media to celebrate the family’s recent transition. The couple, along with their young son Ty, had relocated to the Boise area approximately six months prior to the incident.

Writing on Facebook on October 4—just 16 days before the fatal attack—she expressed profound satisfaction with their new surroundings. “We are thriving in ways I don’t think we even expected… we couldn’t be happier with the life we’re building here,” she posted alongside photographs of herself and her son.
In the same social media update, she reflected on the relocation as a pivotal turning point for the family. “Looking back now, I can confidently say it was one of the best decisions we’ve ever made,” she wrote. “Watching our little life fall into place here has been pretty special.”
