Elizabeth Hurley and Billy Ray Cyrus to Move in Together in Los Angeles

Elizabeth Hurley has announced plans to move in with Billy Ray Cyrus in Los Angeles, signaling a new chapter for the couple as they embrace life as “empty nesters.” The 61-year-old actress and model shared the development during a recent appearance on the “Off Air With Jane and Fi” podcast, explaining that the pair, who are reportedly engaged, intend to establish a home base in the California city while maintaining a presence at Hurley’s estate in England.
The decision to cohabitate comes as Hurley reflects on the newfound freedom of her current relationship compared to past romances. She noted that because both she and the 65-year-old country singer have adult children who are now independent, the logistical challenges of their partnership have significantly diminished. Hurley contrasted this experience with her time dating the late Australian cricket icon Shane Warne, who died in 2022. During that relationship, both partners were actively raising young children, which required navigating complex school schedules and family obligations.
“It works very well, I think,” Hurley said of her current dynamic with Cyrus. “When I dated Shane… he had three kids and they were all sort of the same age as Damian. They were kids, there were still school runs, school holidays. There was an awful lot to juggle.”
Hurley described the current stage of her life as “more grown up” and “easier.” Her son, 24-year-old Damian Hurley—whom she shares with the late businessman Steve Bing—is the youngest of their combined families. Cyrus has a large family including children Miley, 33; Noah, 26; and Braison, 32, with his former wife Tish Cyrus. He also adopted Tish’s children, Brandi, 39, and Trace, 37, and has a son, Christopher Cody, from a previous relationship. While Hurley admitted to a “bittersweet” adjustment in no longer being a hands-on parent, she noted she does not miss the frantic searches for tennis rackets or the daily school runs.
The couple’s relationship was officially confirmed in early 2025, following months of speculation. The two were first linked after Hurley posted a video of herself dancing to Cyrus’s music while on vacation in the Maldives. It is believed their connection began on the set of the 2022 film “Christmas in Paradise,” where they starred alongside Kelsey Grammer. In April, they solidified their public status by sharing a photo together on social media.
The move to Los Angeles will supplement their time spent at Hurley’s $8 million Herefordshire estate in the United Kingdom. The 187-acre property, which features 13 bedrooms and five bathrooms, served as a primary location for the couple last summer. Hurley noted that Cyrus “really loves” the English countryside, having spent significant time there between his touring commitments. The couple has frequently shared glimpses of their trans-Atlantic life on social media, including photos taken at both the Herefordshire estate and Cyrus’s home in Tennessee.
Cyrus’s transition into this new living arrangement follows a period of personal volatility. He was married to Tish Cyrus for nearly three decades before their 2022 divorce. A subsequent marriage to Australian singer Firerose in October 2023 ended after just seven months, with the singer citing irreconcilable differences.
With Cyrus owning a diverse property portfolio across Tennessee, Florida, and California, the couple’s move to Los Angeles marks a consolidated step for the duo. As they prepare for a shared future in California, they appear to be leveraging the flexibility of their current life stage to maintain a relationship that spans continents.
