Giants Release Week 7 Injury Report and Designate Paulson Adebo for Return

The New York Giants have released their initial injury report ahead of their Week 7 matchup against the Houston Texans, revealing a substantial list of sidelined players as the team prepares for its final game before the upcoming bye week. The Giants enter the contest with a 3-2-1 record, while the Texans stand at 2-4.

A total of 15 players were listed as non-participants in the team’s first practice session of the week. The defensive side of the ball saw several key contributors sidelined, including linebacker Tremaine Edmunds with a shoulder injury, safety Jevón Holland due to a concussion, cornerback Greg Newsome II dealing with a concussion, cornerback Colton Hood with a concussion, cornerback Paulson Adebo managing a knee issue, safety Tyler Nubin with a neck injury, and outside linebacker Kayvon Thibodeaux due to an illness.

The offensive lineup also faced significant injury designations. Right tackle Jermaine Eluemunor was sidelined with a calf injury, offensive lineman Marcus Mbow was out with a knee issue, left tackle Andrew Thomas appeared on the report with a groin injury, tight end Theo Johnson was sidelined with a neck injury, wide receiver Charlie Jones dealt with an Achilles issue, tight end Thomas Fidone II was listed with a shoulder injury, and wide receiver Darnell Mooney was out with a neck injury. Additionally, punter Jordan Stout was held out of practice due to a right knee injury.

Despite the extensive injury list, the Giants received a boost with cornerback Paulson Adebo being designated for return from injured reserve. Adebo participated in practice Wednesday in a limited capacity. He had been placed on injured reserve with a knee injury on Sept. 18 following the team’s season-opening victory against the Dallas Cowboys. Under league rules, once a player is designated for return, the team has a 21-day window to add him to the active roster or return him to season-ending injured reserve.

Adebo’s return arrives at a critical juncture for the secondary, following a concussion suffered by Greg Newsome II during the previous week’s game against the Saints. Newsome had previously been the only member of the Giants’ secondary, alongside safety Jevón Holland, to start all six games of the season. During the 2025 campaign, Adebo started all 12 games in which he played for New York after spending the first four seasons of his career in New Orleans. Although he did not start the season opener against Dallas—with Newsome and Deonte Banks taking the initial snaps—Adebo logged 10 defensive snaps and eight special teams snaps in that contest, recording three solo tackles, including one on kickoff coverage.

In addition to Adebo’s practice return, the Giants bolstered their depth by signing offensive lineman Josh Sills to the active roster from the Indianapolis Colts’ practice squad. Sills brings prior NFL experience, having appeared in 21 career games across three seasons. Following Sunday’s game against the Texans in Houston, the Giants will observe their bye week.
