Democrats Release Epstein Report Highlighting Allegations Involving Trump and Zampolli

House Democrats released a new report concerning Jeffrey Epstein just over a week before Election Day, bringing fresh attention to the long-running sex trafficking case and highlighting how lawmakers plan to utilize legislative power if they secure control of one or both chambers of Congress.

In connection with the report’s release, Representative Jamie Raskin of Maryland, the top Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee, formally called on the Department of Justice on Monday to appoint an independent special counsel. Raskin urged that this special counsel oversee investigations into allegations detailed in the document, investigate Epstein’s co-conspirators, examine the Department of Justice’s handling of the matter, and ensure that state and foreign prosecutors have access to necessary evidence.

Thus far, Ghislaine Maxwell, a long-time confidant of Epstein, remains the only individual convicted of the sex trafficking of minors in relation to the broader Epstein case.

The newly released report also contains specific allegations regarding Paolo Zampolli, a former Trump administration official and close ally of Donald Trump. According to the document, Zampolli is alleged to have been an active participant in activities connected to the Epstein sex trafficking allegations. The timing of the report’s release underscores the political intensity surrounding the final days of the election cycle, as both parties make late pushes to influence voters’ decisions on governance and oversight.
