Arrowmax Launches AI-Powered Arrowspace S1 Electric Screwdriver

Tool manufacturer Arrowmax has introduced its latest precision hardware product, the Arrowspace S1 smart electric screwdriver, which integrates high-definition imaging and artificial intelligence to automate fastener identification and torque selection.

The core functionality of the Arrowspace S1 relies on an embedded camera and AI vision system located near the device’s probe. When a user places the probe against a fastener surface, the camera captures its head features at an optimal focal distance. An internally trained machine learning model then processes the imagery to determine the specific fastener specifications without requiring an active internet connection.

According to the company, the recognition model was trained using tens of thousands of real-world fastener photographs compiled entirely by its engineering team rather than relying on external datasets. Once identification is complete, data transmits locally to a companion mobile application that displays live camera feeds, recommended bits, torque settings, and gear levels.

The system integrates further with an optional Smart Case accessory housing 52 distinct bits, each equipped with an individual LED indicator. Upon identifying a fastener, the storage box automatically illuminates the corresponding bit slot to guide the user toward the correct tool. In addition to visual guidance, the screwdriver automatically configures its output to a recommended torque level to mitigate the risk of stripped threads or over-tightening during delicate repairs on electronics such as computers, mobile phones, and eyewear.

Hardware specifications include an integrated OLED display indicating battery levels, torque configurations, and rotation direction. The device is powered by a 600mAh lithium-polymer battery rated for approximately 90 minutes of continuous operation or roughly 900 fastener installation cycles. Recharging is handled via a USB-C port requiring about 70 minutes for a full charge, while operational torque spans a range of 1 to 10 kgf/cm.

Arrowmax launched the product through a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter. Early-bird pricing is set at approximately $80 for the standalone screwdriver, while the complete bundle featuring the Smart Case and 52-bit set is available for about $129. The campaign opened on October 20, surpassed its initial funding goal within 24 hours, and has since exceeded ten times its original target.

Additional modular accessories, including angle adapters, bit conversion kits, and mini vises, are also offered to support diverse assembly and maintenance environments. Industry observers note that while automated precision tools occupy a specialized market segment, the technology addresses a persistent challenge for hobbyists and repair technicians by streamlining bit selection and torque management.
