ABC Set to Broadcast 265th El Clásico Live From Spotify Camp Nou

The 265th edition of El Clásico between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid is set to make history this Sunday, October 25, as the fixture airs live on ABC for the first time. Kickoff from Spotify Camp Nou in Barcelona is scheduled for 4 p.m. ET, preceded by a live one-hour pregame show starting at 3 p.m.
In addition to ABC’s landmark broadcast, the match will be available in English on ESPN+ and in Spanish on ESPN Deportes, with streaming also accessible through the ESPN App for subscribers of the ESPN Unlimited plan. Comprehensive multi-day programming originating directly from Barcelona began on Thursday, October 22, featuring dedicated studio shows across platforms.
The English-language match commentary will be led by Ian Darke and Steve McManaman, joined by reporter Sid Lowe. On the Spanish-language broadcast, Fernando Palomo and Eduardo Biscayart will call the action alongside reporters Martín Ainstein and Moisés Llorens.
Studio coverage from Barcelona is anchored by Dan Thomas for English programming and Mauricio Pedroza for Spanish programming. They are joined on site by analysts and contributors including Craig Burley, Luis García, Mario Suárez, Rodrigo Fáez, and Álex Pareja.
Entering the fixture across all competitions, FC Barcelona holds the top position in the LALIGA standings. Real Madrid sits six points behind in third place, giving Sunday’s early-season encounter significant implications for the domestic title race.
Historically, the fixture remains among the most balanced elite rivalries in world football. Across 192 LALIGA meetings, Real Madrid has claimed 80 victories to Barcelona’s 77, alongside 35 draws, leaving just three wins separating the two clubs after nearly a century of league competition.
The matchup brings together several global superstars following the summer’s World Cup. Barcelona features talents such as Lamine Yamal, Pedri, and Raphinha, while Real Madrid counters with Kylian Mbappé and Jude Bellingham.
The sidelines also feature a notable reunion as Real Madrid Head Coach José Mourinho faces FC Barcelona for the first time since his return, setting up his first managerial meeting against Barcelona coach Hansi Flick in this fixture.
Individual accolades add further prestige to the encounter. Kylian Mbappé and Lamine Yamal arrive as leading contenders for the Ballon d’Or, with the award ceremony taking place just 24 hours after the match. Six of the 30 nominees could feature on the pitch, continuing a historic legacy where players from the two clubs have combined for 24 Ballon d’Or awards—12 for each side—surpassing any other club in history.
The presentation will also feature a custom Marvel Studios’ VisionQuest-themed creative execution across ABC and ESPN digital channels, including pregame content and an exclusive halftime spot voiced by actor Paul Bettany.
Away from the stadium, fan experiences are taking place internationally. Reporters Alexis Nunes and Cristina Alexander are anchoring coverage from the Wynwood Marketplace in Miami for the El Clásico Fan Experience presented by Walmart and LALIGA, which features appearances by LALIGA legends and World Cup winners Carles Puyol and Iker Casillas.
