WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair Hospitalized After Fall in Florida

WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair was hospitalized on Friday morning after suffering a fall outside a restaurant in Tampa, Florida, just hours after disclosing that he was being treated for a blood clot.

According to reports, the 77-year-old wrestling icon was at a Tampa restaurant when he walked outside and suddenly collapsed, injuring his face. The incident left Flair with cuts to his head and eye before he was transported from the scene in an ambulance.

The emergency medical trip occurred shortly after Flair shared a public health update with fans on social media, announcing that he had been forced to cancel an upcoming appearance at the Washington State Horror Con in Seattle. In his statement, Flair explained that physicians had restricted his travel to a maximum of three to four hours due to a diagnosed blood clot in his leg.

Stating that Seattle fell outside of his permitted travel range, Flair emphasized the severity of his condition, writing that blood clots are extremely serious and can be life-threatening. He pointed to recent health complications involving NFL player Jalen Hurts, who dealt with blood clots in his lungs, as a reminder that the medical issue requires strict adherence to professional advice.

Prior to the fall, Flair had indicated plans to undergo a procedure to treat the affected vein, expressing hope that the medical intervention would eventually clear him to resume traveling for public appearances.

The latest health scare follows previous medical challenges for the veteran athlete. In May, Flair disclosed that he was taking time to address undisclosed health issues. In 2017, he faced a severe health crisis that required a medically induced coma stemming from multiple organ failure.
