Sony to Remove Grand Theft Auto V and Ten Other Titles from PlayStation Plus

Sony is set to remove eleven games from the PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium game catalogs on November 17, 2026, a departure highlighted by the exit of two of the service’s most prominent open-world titles, Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption 2. The November removals arrive just two days before the scheduled November 19, 2026, launch of Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto VI.
The lineup of departing titles, reported by outlet roundups including Push Square and PSX Extreme, spans a mix of major blockbusters, sports simulations, and independent releases. Alongside Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption 2, the removal list includes Football Manager 26, The Talos Principle 2, Cricket 24, Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom, Hotshot Racing, Rock of Ages 3, Earth Defense Force 4.1: The Shadow of New Despair, Rapala Fishing Pro Series, and Yet Another Zombie Defense HD.
Subscribers should note that regional availability may vary. Sony’s service terms indicate that Game Catalog and Premium lineups can differ by country, and various international outlets have reported slightly different counts based on local store updates. US readers are advised to consult the Last Chance to Play section directly on their console’s PlayStation Store for their specific regional lineup.
The timing of the removal has drawn widespread attention due to its proximity to the upcoming release of Grand Theft Auto VI. Preloading for the new title is scheduled to begin at local midnight on November 12, creating a narrow window for players wishing to revisit Los Santos via subscription before the older games depart on November 17. Neither Sony nor Rockstar Games has issued an official explanation regarding the timing of the catalog exit.

Industry observers note that catalog removals do not affect titles previously purchased and stored in an owner’s permanent library, nor do they retire the games from the marketplace. Subscribers who wish to continue playing any of the departing titles after November 17 will need to purchase them. Current US pricing for the PlayStation Plus service remains set at $16.99 per month or $134.99 annually for the Extra tier, and $19.99 per month or $159.99 annually for the Premium tier.
The November departures coincide with recent additions to the service. Sony’s October catalog updates introduced titles such as Mafia: The Old Country, Horizon Forbidden West, and Mycopunk to the Game Catalog, while the Classics Catalog added Dino Crisis 2 and RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 Complete Edition. Platform analysts point out that the ongoing rotation reflects a broader trend of older PlayStation 4 titles leaving the service as Sony moves toward more intermittent additions for that hardware generation.
