Ohio Bull Rider Killed Following Trampling Accident at Warren County Rodeo

A 35-year-old Ohio man has died following a tragic incident at a Saturday night rodeo in Warren County, where he was fatally injured after being thrown and trampled by a bull. The victim has been identified by authorities as Jason Blake Saylor.
According to the Clearcreek Township Police Department, the accident occurred at Fox Hollow Stables, located on East State Route 73 near Waynesville. Emergency crews were dispatched to the scene at approximately 7:41 p.m. following reports that a rider had been seriously hurt during the competition.
Initial reports indicate that Saylor was bucked off the animal during his ride. Once he was on the ground, the bull either kicked or stepped on him, inflicting a severe chest injury. Despite the high-impact nature of the sport, police confirmed that Saylor was taking standard safety precautions and was wearing chest protection at the time of the incident. However, the protective vest was insufficient to prevent the fatal trauma caused by the animal’s force.
On-site medics provided immediate emergency treatment to Saylor before he was rushed to Atrium Medical Center. Despite the efforts of first responders and medical staff, he was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
The management of Fox Hollow Rodeo released a statement on Sunday expressing their devastation over the loss. They described Saylor as a beloved member of their community and a “brother in Christ.” The organization extended its thoughts and prayers to Saylor’s family and friends, while also requesting that the public respect the family’s privacy during the mourning process.
Clearcreek Township police are currently investigating the matter, though officials have stated that the incident is being treated as an accidental death. The news of Saylor’s passing has prompted a range of reactions online, with many in the local community offering condolences while others have raised questions regarding the inherent risks and safety protocols of the sport.
As of Sunday, the investigation into the circumstances of the accident remains open, though no foul play is suspected. Funeral arrangements and further details regarding the incident have not yet been announced.
