Michael Keaton’s Batman Returns Unmasked in New McFarlane Figure
More than three decades after Michael Keaton first defined a generation’s cinematic Dark Knight, the actor’s iconic iteration of Bruce Wayne is receiving a new commemorative collectible. McFarlane Toys has unveiled an unmasked action figure inspired by Keaton’s appearance in the 1992 film Batman Returns, adding another piece to its extensive DC Multiverse lineup.
Keaton originally stepped into the role for Tim Burton’s landmark 1989 film before returning for the 1992 sequel, which famously introduced Danny DeVito as the Penguin and Michelle Pfeiffer as Catwoman. Though Keaton did not revisit the role again until the 2023 superhero film The Flash, his portrayal remains one of the most recognizable interpretations of the Caped Crusader in cinematic history.

The upcoming release, officially titled the Batman Unmasked (Batman Returns) Deluxe Theatrical Edition, features a seven-inch sculpt depicting Bruce Wayne in full costume but without his signature cowl. Designed with the company’s trademark Ultra Articulation system featuring 22 moving parts, the collectible includes several accessories such as a broken mask, a grapnel launcher, a batarang, two interchangeable extra hands, a display base, and a collectible art card.
The figure is currently available for pre-order through McFarlane Toys’ official website at a retail price of $34.99, with shipping tentatively estimated to begin in November 2026, though release dates remain subject to change. The item is also being offered as part of a three-figure Deluxe Theatrical Edition bundle alongside characters from other live-action DC projects—specifically an Oswald Cobblepot figure based on HBO’s The Penguin and a Batgirl figure inspired by the 1997 film Batman & Robin. The bundled set is listed at $89.22, offering a discount compared to purchasing all three items individually at a combined cost of $104.97.

These upcoming releases coincide with a transitional phase for DC merchandise. McFarlane Toys launched its DC Multiverse line in 2020, encompassing figures drawn from comics, television series, video games, and feature films. However, the manufacturer’s current licensing agreement with DC is drawing to a close and is set to expire in December 2026, as Mattel prepares to expand its own partnership with DC and launch a new product line in 2027.
