Fourteen-year-old actor Matthew Lamb, who stars as Elliot Radovic in the ABC series High Potential, is mourning the death of his mother, Meredith. The young actor shared an emotional tribute on Instagram on Monday, October 19, announcing that his mother had passed away two days prior on Saturday, October 17.
In his social media post, Matthew expressed the profound depth of his loss, describing his mother as his everything. He noted that she handled his schooling, taught him empathy, and dedicated herself entirely to their family while maintaining a constant smile and offering comforting hugs. He described her as the most selfless person he knew, adding that her passing still does not feel real and that he is uncertain if it ever will.
Matthew shared that his mother loved and supported everyone authentically. He reflected on the daily moments he will miss, including recounting his day to her, talking together, and watching their favorite shows. While acknowledging the painful reality of all the future milestones she will miss, he expressed gratitude for the experiences they shared during her life.
The Instagram tribute was accompanied by a collection of photographs capturing Matthew and his family over the years, alongside a glimpse of a performance dedicated in her honor. In an additional message shared on his Instagram Stories, Matthew expressed appreciation for the outpouring of support from friends, loved ones, and industry peers, letting them know how much their backing meant to him even if he could not reply individually.
Community organizations also honored Meredith, including the Broadway Artists Alliance, where she served as a parent liaison. In a statement released on Monday, the organization noted that the title failed to capture even a fraction of her true impact on the BAA family. The alliance stated that over the past six years, Meredith transformed the community in immeasurable ways, acting as the biggest champion for every student, staff member, and parent while serving as the glue holding the group together.
The tribute highlighted Meredith’s dedication to making everyone feel special, regardless of whether she had known them for years, hours, or mere minutes. She was remembered as taking tremendous pride in being a cheerleader, trusted resource, and dear friend to those around her. In response to her passing, the Broadway Artists Alliance announced it is working alongside her family to honor her legacy through dedicated scholarships designed to help young artists pursue their artistic dreams.
Beyond his current role in High Potential alongside Kaitlin Olson, where he has played Morgan Gillroy’s son since the show’s 2024 premiere, Matthew’s acting credits include appearances in Only Murders in the Building, Sofia the First: Royal Magic, and various stage productions.
