FedEx Delivers Sentimental Wardrobe to Kevin Bacon in Ireland After Global Detour

Delivery giant FedEx has issued an apology to Hollywood actor Kevin Bacon after confirming that a long-delayed box of his personal clothing has finally reached him in Ireland following an extensive and unintended global detour. The Footloose star, who is currently shooting a new film in the country, had turned to social media to seek assistance after a parcel containing items he has owned since the 1990s failed to arrive on schedule.
Bacon had originally shipped the box from upstate New York on September 26 in an effort to travel light for his production work, playfully referring to the courier in his video as a company whose name rhymes with “Bread X.” Instead of crossing the Atlantic directly to its European destination, the package embarked on a meandering journey that routed it through Memphis, France, and Germany before being mistakenly dispatched to Israel on multiple occasions. The shipment finally touched down in Ireland on October 11, but remained stuck and uncollected when Bacon recorded his public appeal five days later.
In his video message, the actor expressed frustration over communication barriers with the shipping provider, noting that he was unable to reach a live representative to resolve the issue. The missing parcel held considerable personal significance, containing worn-in boots, denim jeans, and hats dating back decades. Acknowledging that he could easily purchase a new wardrobe, Bacon emphasized that the sentimental value of the original items motivated his search, noting that colder weather was setting in and questioning whether he would ever see the belongings again.
Responding directly to the actor’s social media post, FedEx acknowledged the logistics failure. The company stated that the package had since been delivered, admitted that the handling fell short of expected standards, and confirmed that internal reviews were underway to prevent similar errors in the future.
Bacon is stationed in Ireland to film Summoner, a horror feature written and directed by Jeremy Slater. The production also features a cast including Stephanie Beatriz, known for her role in Brooklyn Nine-Nine, and Daniel Ings, who appeared in The Gentlemen. The plot centers on Bacon’s character, Jefferson Haddock, as he encounters a terrifying demonic entity at a remote witness protection safe house. Producers have not yet announced an official release date for the project.
