Kourtney Kardashian revealed a piece of divine dating advice she once received from her former brother-in-law, Kanye West, during an episode of her family’s reality television series.
The disclosure occurred while the 47-year-old reality star was touring the new home of her stepson, Landon Barker. During the visit, Landon and his roommate began discussing the prospect of hosting parties in the space, leading Kardashian to offer her own perspective on romance and relationships.
“Honestly, just wait until you get married. That’s my advice. Don’t waste your energy,” Kardashian told the 23-year-old musician and his roommate.
A producer on the set then questioned whether Kardashian and her husband, Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker, had adhered to that same standard before tying the knot in 2022. Kardashian clarified that they had not followed that path themselves, but noted that she had received a unique intervention from West during her single years.
“No, but I remember Kanye told me, ‘I feel like God is calling me to tell you that you should not hook up with any randoms until you are with your husband,'” Kardashian recounted during the episode. She added that she ultimately followed that guidance.
Landon Barker responded to the revelation with a lighthearted, humorous exclamation, reacting with mock disgust to the conversation.
West was previously married to Kourtney’s sister, Kim Kardashian, from 2014 until 2021. The former couple share four children: North, 13, Saint, 10, Chicago, 8, and Psalm, 7.
Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker began their romantic relationship in 2021, shortly before Kim Kardashian filed for divorce from West. The couple became engaged a few months later and celebrated their union with three separate wedding ceremonies in 2022. They later welcomed their son, Rocky, in November 2023.
In addition to Landon, Travis Barker shares a 20-year-old daughter, Alabama, with his ex-wife, Shanna Moakler, and serves as a father figure to Moakler’s daughter, Atiana, from her previous relationship with Oscar De La Hoya. Kourtney Kardashian also shares three children—Mason, 16, Penelope, 14, and Reign, 11—with her former partner, Scott Disick.
