Kamala Harris Heads to Georgia for Campaign Events Ahead of Midterms

Former Vice President Kamala Harris is scheduled to visit Atlanta and Macon on Thursday as the campaign trail enters its final stretch with the midterm elections just five days away.

Harris is slated to participate in the NAACP We The People Town Hall on Thursday night at Elizabeth Baptist Church. The event, which requires registration to attend, will center on community leadership and civic participation. During her appearance, Harris is expected to encourage voter turnout and throw her support behind Democratic gubernatorial candidate Keisha Lance Bottoms and U.S. Senate candidate Jon Ossoff.

Following the town hall, Harris is scheduled to headline a fundraising dinner on Friday night aimed at bolstering local Democratic campaign infrastructure.

Meanwhile, Republican candidates have organized counter-events across the state. GOP U.S. Senate candidate Mike Collins is scheduled to meet with supporters on Thursday evening at the Sunset Hills Country Club in Carrollton. In addition, Republican gubernatorial candidate Rick Jackson plans to campaign alongside Gov. Brian Kemp at a series of meet-and-greet events spanning Barrow and Walton counties.

The scheduled campaign visits highlight intense final-stretch mobilization efforts by both parties in Georgia as voters prepare to head to the polls.
