Chad Lowe and Kim Painter List Los Angeles Home Weeks After Daughter’s Death

Actor Chad Lowe and his wife, Kim Painter, have placed their Los Angeles family home up for sale, just weeks after the tragic death of their 13-year-old daughter, Fiona.
The sprawling 3,239-square-foot Mar Vista property, featuring Spanish-style architecture, vaulted ceilings, four bedrooms, and three bathrooms, has already attracted a prospective buyer. According to real estate records, the couple accepted an offer of $3.249 million, though the transaction remains contingent on specific conditions being met. The couple originally purchased the home for $3.15 million in March 2025.
Fiona died by suicide on September 29. Following her passing, the family released a statement expressing deep heartbreak over the loss.
“She was adored by her sisters and she was deeply loved by her parents,” the family statement read. “In fact, she was the light of our lives. Her passing is devastating for our entire family and we ask for prayers and privacy at this time.”

The teenager is survived by her parents as well as her sisters, 17-year-old Mabel and 10-year-old Nixie. In the wake of the tragedy, Mabel shared an emotional tribute on social media.
“I love you so much fiona, i wish your short time here was easier and i hope your mind is at ease now,” Mabel wrote on Instagram. “I will honor you forever and keep your memory alive. I love you, i hope you knew just how much.”

A family friend subsequently noted that the young teen had been profoundly impacted by the loss of their previous residence during the Palisades fire the prior year, where the family lost everything. Music executive Mykesha Robinson, whose daughter Faith was a childhood friend of Fiona, remembered her as a vibrant person who would readily strike up conversations with anyone.
Earlier this month, the family gathered for a private celebration of life honoring Fiona, attended by close friends and relatives. The Lowe-Painter family also made their first public appearance since the tragedy on October 10 at the wedding of Matthew, the son of Chad’s older brother Rob Lowe.
