Celtics Report Positive Health Updates Ahead of Tuesday Night Matchup Against Nets

The Boston Celtics enter Tuesday night’s matchup against the Brooklyn Nets in strong health, with key rotation players Jayson Tatum, Paul George, and Mitchell Robinson all cleared to play. The trio are available after lacing up for Monday night’s game against the Chicago Bulls at TD Garden.

The Celtics’ updated injury report lists only two players for the contest: Devin Carter remains sidelined due to an illness, while Derrick White is listed as probable with right hip synovitis.

The availability of Robinson for back-to-back games marks a notable shift from his previous tenure with the New York Knicks, where he typically sat out one leg of back-to-backs. In an interview earlier this month with Knicks Fan TV, Robinson expressed enthusiasm about his new physical status in Boston. He stated that things would not be the same as they were with the Knicks, noting his ability to play back-to-backs with a free mind and excitement to simply play basketball after a long-awaited recovery.

George has similarly reported feeling the healthiest he has felt in years. During Media Day, George reflected on his recovery from a severe knee hyperextension suffered two years ago, a physical setback from which he never fully recovered during his two-year stint with the Philadelphia 76ers. He described his current physical state and transition into a winning culture as a rebirth, contrasting it with previous summers that were entirely dedicated to rehabilitation rather than training.

Tatum has also returned to form early this season following an Achilles tear he suffered 17 months ago.

When asked about back-to-back management on Monday, head coach Joe Mazzulla indicated that the team’s approach remains flexible. Mazzulla emphasized reliance on the sports science team and the competitive drive of the players, while highlighting a locker room culture designed to allow every roster spot to impact winning. He noted that ultimate decisions are driven by what gives the team the best chance to win while maintaining player health and validating the entire roster.

Boston has maintained a consistent starting lineup through three full-strength preseason games and its first three regular-season contests, which include a loss to the Detroit Pistons alongside victories against the New York Knicks and the Chicago Bulls. That starting five features Derrick White, Jordan Walsh, Jayson Tatum, Paul George, and Mitchell Robinson.

The Celtics head into Tuesday’s contest following a 134-99 victory over the Chicago Bulls on Monday night. In that win, Pritchard led the scoring effort with 28 points in 21 minutes off the bench, while Tatum contributed 23 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists.

The Celtics and Nets are scheduled to tip off at 7:30 p.m. ET on Tuesday.
