Millions of Kids’ Fluoride Toothpaste Tubes Recalled Nationwide Over Manufacturing Issues

More than 4.3 million tubes of fluoride toothpaste distributed across the United States have been voluntarily recalled following federal findings of manufacturing deviations at the production facility. The sweeping recall disproportionately affects kid-themed oral care products featuring licensed character names and playful flavors such as bubble gum, strawberry, and watermelon, though a small selection of other labels is also included.
The voluntary action was initiated on September 10 by India-based manufacturer Pritam International Private Limited. The Food and Drug Administration subsequently classified the action as a Class II recall on October 19. This classification applies to products that may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences, where the likelihood of serious injury is considered remote. Federal health officials confirmed that no illnesses or injuries have been reported in connection with the recalled items.
The affected inventory encompasses several prominent brands distributed by Ashtel Studios Inc., based in Ontario, California. Among the recalled merchandise are lines sold under the Brush Buddies, Crayola, Hot Wheels, and My Little Pony brands. Flavors span a broad range including bubble gum, strawberry, watermelon, peppermint, sweet mint, and cool mint. The items were packaged in 3.5-ounce and 4-ounce tubes, as well as a two-pack configuration of 3.5-ounce tubes.
Consumers holding the products are advised to inspect their medicine cabinets, as the expiration dates on the affected tubes stretch from November 2026 through mid-2028. Because many of these expiration dates extend far into the future, households may currently have the items in active daily use.

Neither the manufacturer nor the domestic distributor has yet released formal public instructions regarding product returns or financial refunds. In the absence of specific corporate guidance, federal regulators recommend that consumers verify their tube’s brand, lot number, and expiration date against official regulatory notices. Households possessing a matching product are advised to discard it immediately. Consumers wishing to preserve potential reimbursement options should retain purchase receipts or photograph the packaging before disposal. Individuals who have questions or concerns regarding family members who used the affected toothpaste are encouraged to consult a dentist or physician.
