Valtteri Bottas Opens Finnish Home to YouTubers, Showing Off First F1 Car and Career Memorabilia

Formula 1 driver Valtteri Bottas recently opened the doors of his Finnish residence to the public gaze for the first time, collaborating with popular YouTube creators known as Average Rob. The content creation duo, consisting of two brothers, traveled to Finland to experience local culture and tour the driver’s home after Bottas previously visited them in Belgium to sample local traditions and delicacies.
Upon arriving at his Finnish property, the YouTubers were greeted by an unexpected indoor sight: a genuine Formula 1 racing car parked directly inside the home. Bottas identified the vehicle as the 2014 Williams F1 car, specifically chassis FW36-03, which was gifted to him by the team. The car holds notable personal significance for the Finnish driver, as he piloted it to his career-first podium finish at the 2014 Austrian Grand Prix, securing a third-place finish behind Mercedes drivers Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton after starting on the front row.
During the home tour, Bottas walked his guests through a dedicated room housing a comprehensive collection of trophies and awards spanning his entire motorsport career, from his early days in karting through his tenure in Formula 1. The space also features various mementos and helmets exchanged with fellow competitors throughout the years. Among the display pieces, Bottas highlighted a helmet traded with former teammate Lewis Hamilton, which bears a personal inscription reading, “My friend Valtteri, the greatest teammate ever,” alongside a lighthearted joke written on the visor.
When asked to identify his favorite piece among the extensive collection, Bottas pointed to the plated trophy from his victory at the 2019 Australian Grand Prix, a nod to his well-documented personal affinity for Australia.
Beyond the racing memorabilia, the visit shifted toward traditional Finnish lifestyle and culture. The group toured the garden, where wood was gathered to fire up a traditional Finnish sauna. The creators also sampled local culinary items and beverages, learned phrases in the Finnish language, and went on a bicycle ride to taste a local specialty known as the “Bottas Burger.”
True to a running theme that has characterized Bottas’s public persona in recent years, the visit concluded with a traditional Finnish sauna session followed by a cold water dip in a nearby lake, with all three participants experiencing the routine fully nude.
