Seattle Seahawks Inactive List: Drew Lock Sidelined, Jalen Milroe Steps In As Backup QB

The Seattle Seahawks enter Sunday night’s matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs with a modified quarterback hierarchy and several key defensive players returning to the active roster. Quarterback Drew Lock has been ruled inactive for the contest due to a right elbow injury that previously left him listed as questionable on the team’s injury report. Although Lock will dress for the game to serve in an emergency third-quarterback capacity, second-year signal-caller Jalen Milroe will step into the No. 2 role behind starter Sam Darnold.

Milroe has yet to appear in a regular-season game during the 2025 campaign, though he logged playing time in three contests as a rookie. The elevation puts the young quarterback one snap away from taking the field in a high-profile prime-time matchup.

While the Seahawks will navigate the game without their usual immediate backup, the team received positive news regarding several key players who had faced uncertain status leading up to kickoff. Safety Nick Emmanwori, linebacker DeMarcus Lawrence, and linebacker Uchenna Nwosu were all given the green light after being listed as questionable on the final injury report, providing a significant boost to Seattle’s defensive rotation against Kansas City’s explosive offense.

Alongside Lock, Seattle’s inactive list for Sunday night includes running back Zach Charbonnet, linebacker Drake Thomas, linebacker Chazz Surratt, outside linebacker Connor O’Toole, guard Beau Stephens, and running back Robert Henry Jr.

On the opposing sideline, the Chiefs released their own inactive designations ahead of the game. Kansas City will proceed without receiver Rashee Rice, offensive tackle Jaylon Moore, quarterback Garrett Nussmeier, defensive back Jadon Canady, fullback Ben VanSumeren, and defensive end Jack Pybum.
