Jonathan Greenard, Saquon Barkley Active for Eagles Ahead of Monday Night Clash

The Philadelphia Eagles enter tonight’s Monday Night Football matchup against the Dallas Cowboys with several key contributors returning to the lineup. Outside linebackers Jonathan Greenard and Jalyx Hunt, along with running back Saquon Barkley, are officially active for the contest.
Both Greenard and Hunt entered the game carrying questionable designations on the injury report. Greenard had been managing an ankle issue that caused him to miss Week 5. He played 24 of 79 defensive snaps against the Carolina Panthers last week after previously dealing with a pectoral injury that sidelined him for the first two games of the season. Hunt returns after missing last week’s game due to a combination of knee and ankle injuries.
Running back Saquon Barkley is also dressed and ready to play after missing the team’s past two games with a hamstring injury. His return provides a major weapon for an Eagles offense that will feature Tanner McKee at quarterback. Former Cowboys quarterback Joe Milton will serve as McKee’s backup for the game, while Cole Payton is designated as the emergency third quarterback.
Philadelphia’s inactive list features several notable absences due to injury. Outside linebacker Nolan Smith is sidelined with a concussion, wide receiver DeVonta Smith is out with a hamstring injury, and wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks is inactive due to an ankle issue. Rounding out the Eagles’ inactives are defensive back Michael Carter II, who is dealing with an abdominal injury, and offensive lineman Jake Majors.
On the opposing sideline, the Dallas Cowboys released their own list of inactive players for the divisional showdown. Dallas will be without offensive tackle Drew Shelton due to a hamstring injury, wide receiver KaVontae Turpin because of a rib issue, and linebacker Dee Winters dealing with a calf problem. Running back Emari Demercado and outside linebacker Tyrus Wheat complete the Cowboys’ inactive list for the night.
