Dustin May Secures Fourth World Series Title With Brewers

Former Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Dustin May made history on Wednesday, October 28th, capturing his fourth World Series title following the Milwaukee Brewers’ victory over the Tampa Bay Rays 4-1 in the 2026 World Series. With this latest championship, May now ties Mookie Betts for the most World Series rings among active players.

During Game 4 of the series, May took the mound as the starting pitcher for the Brewers. He worked three innings, giving up two runs on three hits while recording three strikeouts.

The triumph marks the second consecutive year that May was traded at the midseason deadline, having moved from the St. Louis Cardinals to the Brewers. The transaction ultimately added another championship ring to his career collection. Prior to his time in St. Louis and Milwaukee, May earned three World Series titles with the Dodgers in 2020, 2024, and, though he spent only half a season with the club and did not pitch in 2024, he secured rings based on his roster status.

May originally entered the organization as a promising young prospect at age 22, showcasing elite pitching stuff that suggested front-of-the-rotation potential before playing a vital role on the 2020 championship squad. However, recurring injuries and command difficulties eventually stalled his trajectory. By 2025, his performance declined significantly, resulting in a 4.85 ERA and a -0.4 bWAR.

Seeking a change, the Dodgers traded May at the deadline in a deal that brought notable prospects James Tibbs III and Zach Ehrhard to Los Angeles, both of whom have performed strongly since joining the club. May subsequently rebounded during the 2026 season, catching the attention of the Brewers and ultimately cementing his status as a four-time champion.
