Corrections Policy

MISRYOUM aims to publish accurate information and to address material errors transparently. Readers are encouraged to alert us when an article contains a factual mistake, missing context or a misleading description.

How to request a correction

  • Email wire@misryoum.com.
  • Include the article title and URL.
  • Identify the exact sentence, figure, name, date or other detail you believe is wrong.
  • Provide reliable supporting evidence, such as a primary document or direct source, if available.
  • Explain what you believe the accurate information should be.

How we review requests

We assess the claim, check available evidence and may contact the requester or other relevant parties for clarification. A request does not automatically mean a correction will be made. We may decline a request when evidence does not support it, while remaining open to new information.

Types of updates

  • Correction: fixes a material factual error.
  • Clarification: makes wording or context clearer where the original text may be misunderstood.
  • Update: adds significant new information that became available after publication.
  • Removal or anonymisation: considered only in exceptional circumstances, taking account of public interest, safety, privacy and legal obligations.

Transparency

For significant corrections, we aim to explain what changed and, where appropriate, when the change was made. Minor spelling or formatting fixes may be made without a separate correction note if they do not change meaning.

Good-faith reporting

We consider correction requests in good faith regardless of whether the requester agrees with the article’s conclusions. Disagreement with an opinion or an accurately reported fact is not by itself proof of an error.
