Bambu Lab Prepares H3C Nine-Tool Changer 3D Printer for November Launch

3D printer manufacturer Bambu Lab has scheduled the official launch of its new H3C system for November 3, 2026, at 9 AM Eastern Time, corresponding to 3 PM Central European Time and 10 PM China Standard Time. The upcoming machine is a tool changer 3D printer that integrates nine distinct tools into a single unit, a configuration that significantly expands the capacity of standard desktop and prosumer additive manufacturing equipment.

The company previewed the hardware by premiering an official video teaser, adopting promotional taglines that emphasize the core innovation behind the swap mechanism. Incorporating nine tools positions the H3C ahead of current multi-tool alternatives in the desktop and prosumer sector. Comparable systems currently on the market feature lower capacities, such as the Prusa XL, which accommodates up to five toolheads, and the Snapmaker U1, which handles four.

Traditional single-nozzle multimaterial systems often rely on filament-switching units like Bambu Lab’s own Automatic Material System. While these units enable multicolor prints, they typically incur trade-offs involving purge waste and extended transition times. By utilizing a multi-tool changer approach, printers can physically swap entire toolheads to switch between different materials, colors, and nozzle configurations without generating extensive waste or enduring sluggish color-change cycles.

The development of the H3C continues a rapid product evolution for the Shenzhen-based manufacturer. Established in 2020 by a team of engineers with backgrounds in the consumer drone industry, the company debuted its hardware offerings with the X1 series via a crowdfunding campaign in 2022. Subsequent releases, including the P1 and A1 product families, introduced high-speed, multicolor capabilities to lower market price points, while the H2 series expanded the firm’s portfolio into larger-format, multi-function machines.

Introduction of the H3C brings the manufacturer into the tool-changing segment, a specialized area where the company’s production scale and market positioning could introduce substantial competition for existing equipment providers. Comprehensive details regarding exact technical specifications, the mechanics of the tool-change system, pricing structures, and regional availability are scheduled to be released alongside the formal product launch.
